Large Drawings

Los Claustros is from Santo Domingo de Silos monastery where the monks still sing in Gregorian chant. I wanted to capture distant strains of chanting as I sat in contemplation in the cloisters.

St Michel de Cuxa, a monastery in the French Pyrenees, has a low entrance to the crypt, a dark cavernous space in the bowels of the earth, with a central pillar rising up like a huge tree.

Song of the Path recalls walks on the Pelion Peninsula, Greece, where the Gods used to spend their summers. Cobbled paths - kalderimia - led from the village up the hillside and I found myself stopping on the actual path and making a drawing of the route before me. It felt as if I was incorporating my next breath with my next mark with my next step …

Parque del Espolon, Logrono is from the city centre’s green space that the Camino route passes through, where the trees join and merge into each other in inosculation.
