Myth and Landscape

As a result of being part of Made of Walking 2018/19 in Akamas, Cyprus and Greece, I looked for echoes of the body in the trees and hills. I made the print: Self becoming Tree, inspired from the myth of Daphne pursued by Apollo and changing into a tree. I drew from mythical creatures portrayed on ceramics and musical notation of ancient chants. I found ways of representing the path I was travelling on as I drew in the Greek landscape of the Pelion Peninsula, the summer retreat of the gods and a place of centaurs too..
